SEATEC 2010 - drop in turnout
Italian marine trade show Seatec has released the official data for its February 2010 event, showing a 23 per cent drop in visitors compared to the 2009 edition.
During the three-day show 8,754 visitors attended, compared to 11,380 in 2009.
Despite the drop in turnout — perhaps a reflection of the continued fragility of Italy's marine industry — Seatec organiser CarraraFiere says it achieved 'important objectives' in terms of visitor quality, commitment from shipyards and the range of products on display.
"It is a delicate moment, but Seatec has solid foundations that enable us to keep our commitments and work with confidence for the future."
This year's Seatec ran from February 10-12. The next edition will run at CarraraFiere in Marina di Carrara from February 16-18.
